Dana Point, CA, July 30, 2012 – Mercury Cable & Energy (“Mercury”), the leading developer of High Voltage Composite Reinforced Conductors (“HVCRC”) for electrical transmission lines, is pleased to announce its international affiliate has entered into an agreement with Gupta Power Infrastructure Limited (GPIL) to manufacture HVCRC Conductors in India. Under the terms of the agreement, GPIL will manufacture and sell Mercury’s HVCRC product line in India and upon mutual consent throughout the rest of the world. Immediately upon signing the agreement Gupta submitted tenders on multiple projects in India and both parties agreed to submit a tender in Australia as well.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Ron Morris, CEO of Mercury Cable & the Director of Gupta Power Mr. Abhishek Gupta on July 7, 2012 in the Gupta Power Corporate Office at Bhubaneswar. GPIL will now manufacture HVCRC conductor having semi-exclusive rights to sell in Indian market under the brand name of “G TRANS – HVCRC CONDUCTOR”. HVCRC Conductors will revolutionize the construction of Indian Transmission lines providing the best solution to the acute power crisis for Indian Power Utilities. The “G TRANS – High Ampacity Low Sag HVCRC CONDUCTOR” as a replacement of conventional conductors can be strung on the existing towers thereby completely resolving the difficult Right of Way problem which Indian Utilities face. HVCRC is the latest, best & ultimate Smart Conductor offering in India, providing unmatched efficiency over the conventional ACSR & AAAC Conductors with innumerable advantages for construction of India’s Smart Grid and supporting the concept of a modern more efficient transmission grid.
