Mike Andrews is the Managing Partner of Hawkstone Capital Group, a clean technology venture capital firm focused on expansion phase companies serving the infrastructure, clean energy and energy efficiency markets. He is a former Executive Vice President and Group President at General Cable Corporation where he managed their Energy Infrastructure portfolio of businesses totaling $1.3 billion in annual sales. Mike has broad experience in business management with skills ranging from finance and operations to sales and marketing to portfolio business management of businesses from pure start-ups to a $900 million stand alone business.
At General Cable Mike gained extensive marketing, sales and management experience in the wire and cable industry, the global energy markets and a variety of small niche markets and was part of the leadership team that took General Cable from an $800 million domestic company to a $6.4 billion global enterprise. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President and Group President of General Cable’s Energy Infrastructure businesses as well as Executive Vice President of General Cable’s Global Asset Investment Planning. In this role, he served all segments of the energy infrastructure market including electric transmission & distribution, electricity generation, oil and gas, petrochemical, mining and alternative energy. Mike also had responsibility for the North American Technology Organization which leads the global new product development effort for General Cable.
Chief Executive Officer
Ron is responsible for the strategic direction and worldwide operations of Mercury Cable & Energy. He has more than 25 years of experience leading global organizations, with specialties in mergers and acquisitions, technology transfers, and a variety of complex international ventures. Most recently, he was a top executive and Senior International Counsel for Homestore.com, where he directed and managed the acquisition, integration, and operation of Internet, software, and technology-related companies in Asia, Europe, and South America.
Earlier in his career, Ron worked at KPMG Peat Marwick in the areas of finance and international and domestic tax planning. He has extensive experience in structuring international transactions, business structures and contract law in China. During his tenure at KPMG, he successfully negotiated complex joint venture and technology licensing agreements with prominent Chinese companies and institutions.
Ron holds a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, a LL.M from Boston University, and a B.S. in business administration and in biological sciences from the University of Redlands.
President and Founder
Todd is currently responsible for the financial operations, sales, marketing and strategic plans of Mercury Cable & Energy. His duties include capital raising, implementing the sales and marketing plan and developing and managing the strategic partnerships for the company. Since founding the company in 2006, Todd raised venture funding, aligned strategic partnerships with major transmission sector firms and recruited the executive team.
Prior to Mercury Cable & Energy, Todd worked in banking and securities, with a focus on global industries such as manufacturing, real estate, energy, technology, media and entertainment. He has over ten years experience in corporate finance, structured finance, debt and equity raising and financial advisory services. He provided investment banking and advisory services for leading firms including Merrill Lynch, AXA, CNB Capital and SC Capital Partners.
During his career, Todd developed several relationships with key executives in the transmission and utility industry, including American Electric Power, Pacificorp, Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas & Electric, General Cable, Alcan, Prysmian, Nexans, Jiangsu Far East, China Southern Grid and China State Grid.
